Back by popular demand, WPTDeepStacks returns to the Holland Casino Amsterdam Centre!
For the new decade, a few changes have been introduced: First, the series will take place at the end of March, rather than in early April; and for the second year in a row, the WPTDeepStacks event will be the flagship event of the festival this year.
In Season XVI, Rens Feenstra denied Ema Zajmovic a second title, taking down the Main Event, for €156,370.
At the same time Christos Economides won WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam, winning €74,760 portion of the €325,375 generated to the prize pool.
Economides defeated a tough final table with poker heavyweight Chino Rheem among his opponents. Unfazed by the competition, he steadily built on his second-in-chips stack throughout the final table, until he was the last man standing.
For 2020, the buy-in will be €1,200 and the prize pool had yet to be confirmed at the time of going to press.
Players start with 30,000 chips and blind levels on each of the Day 1s will be 40 minutes. They increase to 60 minutes for Day 2, all the way through until heads up is reached, when they will be reduced to 30 minutes.
The WPTDS event is just one of many on the schedule, with the tour lasting nine days from March 7-15, culminating with the WPTDS from March 12-15.
