Professional poker players and colorful nicknames go hand in hand.

There’s Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson, Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari, Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, Greg “FBT” Mueller, and Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth, to name a few. But no player’s nickname provides a more accurate description of their personality than Jeff “PBF” Gross’.

A Michigan native, the 27-year-old Gross is one of those guys who is seemingly up for anything at any time, no matter how crazy it might appear. It’s this willingness to push the limits in search of fun and adventure that earned him the nickname PBF (Professional Best Friend) from pals like Antonio Esfandiari and Olympic champion, Michael Phelps.

There’s more to Gross than just a guy in search of a good time, however, as his results at the table clearly prove. With nearly $2 million in live tournament winnings, Gross is no stranger to final tables, having achieved that goal twice at the WSOP, and once on the WPT where he took third in Season XI’s WPT Montreal. His pals Antonio and Michael were, of course, cheering him on from the rail because that’s what best friends do.

Will Gross go all the way at WPT Alpha8 Florida? Will Michael and Antonio cheer him on at the final table? Tune into our premiere episode on FOX Sports 1 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Sunday, March 30 to find out.
