It was a busy weekend on tour, with events running in the US, South Africa, and Spain.

In Biloxi, Mississippi, Mohammad Meini claimed victory in the WPT Regional Mississippi IP Spring Classic, where he bested a 135-entrant field to claim the title and nearly $37,000 in first-place prize money. Meanwhile, in Johannesburg, South Africa, 211 entrants anted up to play in the WPT National Johannesburg tournament held at Emperor’s Palace.

When all was said and done, Shaun Gavender of Durbon, South Africa needed only four hands of heads-up play to eliminate Peter Basel and claim the first-place prize worth just over $86,000.

Over in Spain, the money bubble at the bwin WPT Barcelona has just recently burst, leaving the last 25 players in a 249-entrant field battling for a shot at the final table and nearly $260,000 in first-place prize money, including an entry to next month’s 25,000 WPT World Championship at Bellagio.
