The first WPT National Cyprus of the Season XIV kicked off at Malpas Hotel five days ago, with 15 events and more than €700,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The Main Event attracted 144 entries, creating prize pool of  €251,424.

After 27 levels and four days of poker action, Moet Fredrik triumphed over Global Poker Masters contender from Team Ukraine, Oleksandr Gnatenko, with A-7 against A-10. Fredrik found a seven on the flop, winning  the €70,000 first-place prize and the WPT National Cyprus trophy.

In addition to traditional players from Turkey, Russia and Lebanon, the latest WPT National in Cyprus attracted dozens of players from central Europe, Germany, and France. Some notable names included WSOP Main Event finalist Kelly Kim and PMU.fr team pro Erwann Pecheux.

Aside of the table, LEI and Malpas Hotel, renowned for their hospitality, organized a VIP player’s party by the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool. The weather was perfect, and players took the benefits of free drinks and canapes.
