Tempting Reasons to Visit

Tbilisi in Georgia:

Enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountainous city. Narikala fortress is one of the most popular observation points in Tbilisi. The best way to access it is to take a cable car up (some of them have a glass floor for a real 360-degree view) and walk down the hill afterwards.

Sip wonderful wine at long-established wine vaults. Georgia claims to have the longest wine history, and Vinotheca is one of many great cellars that offers tastings, while Khareba is the place to appreciate local wines in a calm atmosphere in one of the free evenings.

Shop at local markets. The Georgian people are renowned for being skilled handcraft workers, who make their own clothing, accessories, and paintings among the other things, which all can be found at Meidan Bazaar or in the Old Town.

Discover local history. Georgians are really proud their heritage, and Mtatsminda Pantheon is a fantastic testimony of the religion, history and culture of the country.

Relish national cuisine. There are so many delicacies that only lucky ones will manage to try everything before leaving back home. Highlights of Georgian gastronomy can be found in places like MaspindzeloKakhelebi and many others.

Almaty in Kazakhstan:

View stunning landscapes of Almaty. Kok-Tobe is the best view point, as it is the highest mountain of the city. It is 1,100 meters above sea level, and perfect to admire panoramic views and breathe fresh mountain air.

Enjoy an active day out of the city. Medeu Ice Rink and Chimbulak Ski Resort are close to each other, and will brilliantly serve the goal. Modern gondola cars will take everyone up to 4.5 kilometers high. If you have never used ice skates, skis, or a snowboard – it’s time to learn.

Experience local art. Almaty has a place that almost never stays still – Arbat. The Arbat district in Almaty is always buzzing, where street musicians and painters meet to entertain the crowd.

Try Kazakh baths. There is one place that is considered as the best bath house in Central Asia – The Arasan Spa. It holds the title for a good reason, the marble bathing area is simply splendid and facilities are luxurious.

Shop around the local market. The Green Bazaar can greatly meet the shopping needs of both locals and tourists. It has all type of goods: from vegetables to clothing and household items. There are friendly vendors from all over Central Asia.

Both cities have so much more to offer, we couldn’t name everything. If you enjoy the simple things then walking around, chatting with the local people, enjoying the views and local food is a great way to spend down time. WPT and its local partners have bilingual managers, who will kindly assist participants in any questions. Georgia and Kazakhstan have quite flexible visa regimes, so almost everyone can come and experience both locations on the World Poker Tour.
