PLAY TO GIVE WITH NJ.PARTYPOKER.COM AND HOMETOWN HEROES

Six online Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments to support those still in need Down the Shore

DECEMBER 20th, 2013: Atlantic City, NJ – Everyone likes to play to win but it feels so much better when you play to give. Beginning January 4th, NJ.partypoker.com will host six online poker tournaments in partnership with Hometown Heroes, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that helps people in a crisis, to support their continuing efforts to Restore the Shore.  The six monthly online Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments will carry a $20 ($10+$10) entry fee, $10 of which goes into the prize-pool and the other $10 donated directly to Hometown Heroes. partypoker will then also match each player’s $10 donation and give it to Hometown Heroes.

Each tournament will benefit one of six Jersey Shore towns designated by Hometown Heroes as still in the greatest need of support more than year after Superstorm Sandy.  The six towns that will benefit from the tournaments are Seaside Heights, Ortley Beach, Brick, Toms River, Ocean Gate and Lavallette.

“Although it’s more than a year after the storm, the need is still so great for people in our community, dealing with the effects of Superstorm Sandy,” said Michael J. Schwartz, Founder and President of Hometown Heroes. “We still have a long road ahead of us and I’m so glad that NJ.partypoker.com has stepped up to help continue those efforts for those who need it most.”

“We’re excited to partner with Hometown Heroes and support their efforts to Restore the Shore,” said Poker Hall of Famer and Team partypoker captain Mike Sexton. “We might be new to the neighborhood, but we know the need is still great for many living down the shore even more than a year after Superstorm Sandy. We hope our players in New Jersey will log on and play to give.”

The first tournament will benefit Seaside Heights and take place on January 4th, 2014. To register for the tournament go into the lobby of NJ.partypoker.com and click on the tournaments tab.  The schedule for the additional 5 tournaments is as follows:
