2024 WSOP Main Event Breaks Record with 10,112 Players

The 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event drew 10,112 players, eclipsing the record-setting turnout of 10,043 for the 2023 WSOP Main Event.

For the second consecutive year, the World Series of Poker Main Event has set a new record for the most participants ever to join the field.

By the close of registration on Day 1D Monday, 10,112 players put up their $10,000 buy-in, eclipsing the previous record of 10,043 set in 2023. Prior to 2023, that record had stood since 2006.

Defending champion Daniel Weinman, who was in the Day 2D field in this year’s WSOP Main Event, received a record $12.1 million for his victory in 2023.

With a flatter payout structure for WSOP bracelet events for 2024, the winner of the 2024 WSOP Main Event will receive $10 million. Second place is worth $6 million, third is $4 million, and all nine players who make the final table are guaranteed $1 million.

1,517 players will cash for a minimum of $15,000.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event champion will be the sixth to receive an eight-figure payday for winning the championship. This is the 55th year in which a WSOP Main Event champion has been crowned.
