WPT Venice Day 2
Welcome to Day 3 of the WPT Venice Grand Prix, in the world’s oldest casino, the Casino Di Venezia.

Last night the WPT held their VIP players party with entertainment provided by Europe’s leading magician and illusionist Dynamo. Let’s hope that the players didn’t have too much to drink at the free bar, and that they managed to find their way back through the maze of streets!

One person who didn’t have too much to drink was the chip leader Marcel Bjerkmann. Bjerkmann decided to stay behind in the tournament and have a massage – despite receiving a chair massage for five hours during the tournament! We spoke to Bjerkmann just before he retired for the evening and he was in good spirits and very confident. Bjerkmann starts the day with 436,300 and finds himself amongst a deluge of short stacks at Table 3.

Carla Solinas is the current short stack on 38,600 and she will be hoping to once again be the last woman standing at WPT Venice. In fact Solinas has been the last woman standing the last two previous times the WPT as held events in this casino. The other woman standing in her way of making it a trio of successes is PartyPoker’s own Kara Scott. Scott has 60,100 chips and will start the day on Table 1.

So where will the action come from today? We will be keeping an eye on Jason Wheeler, Gianluca Speranza and Marcel Bjerkmann to push the action, but also lurking in the wings are the talents of James Akenhead, Andrea Dato and Marko Neumann so it promises to be a cracker.

Action starts at 13.00 (CET)
