The Ominous Joseph Cheong

Cheong Joseph

I asked a professional player (who wishes to remain anonymous) what they thought of Joseph Cheong’s play.

"He is excellent, but is prone to spazz out every now and then," said the pro.

He is doing anything but spazz out at the moment and in fact he has got complete control of his table. He is cleaning up by winning three or four of these types of hands per orbit.

Anders Rasmussen raises to 7,000 from the button and Cheong calls from the small blind as does the big blind. The flop is [9d] [7s] [5h] and Cheong bets 5,000, the big blind folds and Rasmussen makes the call. The turn is the [5c] and Cheong flicks in 11,000 and this time Rasmussen folds his hand.

Cheong has grinded his way to the chip lead with 730,000 chips. If he continues at this pace (and doesn’t spazz out) he could be the betting mans choice.
