Stan Weiss and Benjamin Butler Forfeit Their Stacks

Sep 20, 2010

Two players with very short stacks didn’t even bother to show up today, though both are at least somewhat understandable.

The shortest stack in the field belong to Benjamin Butler, who survived Day 1b by the skin of his teeth, with only 550 in chips. That’s less than a big blind today. So Butler didn’t bother coming back. Butler has already been eliminated.

The other abandoned stack belongs to former WPT winner Stan Weiss, who survived Day 1a with 3,600. The only problem is the fact that Weiss didn’t know he survived Day 1a. When he lost an all-in situation late in the day, he assumed he was busted and left the room. But when the stacks were counted down, he still had more than 5,000 in chips. So his stack remained at his seat, and outlasted the blinds to finish the day.

Benjamin Butler – Eliminated
Stan Weiss – Soon to be Eliminated
