Sean Yu Has Come Close Twice, Still Looking For a Ticket to Day 2

Back in the summer of 2014, the World Poker Tour held its first WPT500 event at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and it was a huge hit that has since expanded to new venues, including WPT500 Los Angeles at the all-new Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens.

That first WPT500 event was won by Sean Yu, who took home $260,000 along with the WPT500 trophy. Yu is eyeing a matching trophy from WPT500 Los Angeles, and has played a few flights here this week, going quite deep.

On Day 1C, the final 17 players advanced to Day 2, and Yu finished 19th to earn $1,000. He went deep again last night in Turbo Flight 1H, where only 10 players would advance to Day 2. Yu finished 13th, again earning $1,000.

Today’s flight looks to be a big one, so if Yu finishes in the teens again, it should be enough to make Day 2.
