Joining the party: LAPC Champion, Cornel Andrew Cimpan, has been added to table 59.  Also, Swedish pro William Thorson has found a seat at table 60.  With the addition of the two players it brings the total number of players in Day 1a action to 63.

Scott Seiver shot up the leaderboard with 120,000 after taking most of his new found chips from Doron Malinasky.  Malinasky sits directly to Seiver’s right and currently only has 8,600.

However, as former WPT winner Rynie Campbell pointed out, with starting stacks of 60,000 you’re never really out of the tournament. He was telling tournament reporters that he loves the new quadruple stacks and you can "Lose half your stack early and have a huge stack a few minutes later."

Although MP3 players, Blackberries and iPhones have evolved into the en vogue form of table entertainment while you’re not in a hand, Phil Laak has cracked open a book and is reading away.  Curious, as one might imagine Laak looking for constant updates on good friend Antonio Esfandiari, who is still in contention at the WSOP Main Event with 139 players remaining.
