Day 1C of the WPT Prime Montreal Championship saw the largest opening flight of the event with 312 entries filling the Playground tournament area with the final 39 advancing to Day 2.

They are led by Samuel Guillen who has bagged the overall chip lead as well, loading up 1,129,000 to end the night to top Day 1B leader Alon Messica’s 1,061,000.

Guillen claimed over 300,000 on the final hand of the night, sending Gabriel Vezina home holding ace-king versus Vezina’s ace-queen.

The top five counts from Day 1C are as follows:

Samuel Guillen – 1,129,000
Adrian Brown – 688,000
Joshua Frazer-James – 621,000
Jason Sagle – 587,000
Stephane Blouin – 568,000

The final 39 players join the 48 from Days 1A and B along with an online flight on WPT Global, making Day 2’s field 87 players and counting before what is expected to be a huge Day 1D on Wednesday.

Plenty of notables will likely be in that field as the likes of Eric Afriat, Steve Buckner, and Frederic Normand are just a few names to have played Day 1C but failed to find a bag.

That final flight will run at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday with Day 2 taking place on Thursday.
