“Yum” (pictured above), Jim Azagour and Jean-Luc Cagli are among the contenders for the over night lead after Day 1A. “Yum” already had a big stack for quite some time, Azazgour and Cagli just joined him near the top of the leader board.

Azazgour is involved in a big pot with Dmitrii Sukhorukov and they both end up all in and at risk preflop in a classic cooler, as Sukhorukov has the Heart KDiamond K and Azazgour reveals Spade ADiamond A. The board comes Diamond JHeart 6Spade 4Spade 7Spade 2 and that’s it for the Russian.

Only a minute later and one table over, the flop shows Spade ADiamond 10Heart 5 and Cagli gets his remaining stack of 59,100 into the middle of the table against Jaouad Abida.

Jean-Luc Cagli: Club ADiamond Q
Jaouad Abida: Heart ADiamond K

Abida is in prime shape to eliminate Cagli, but it is the latter that has reason to celebrate thanks to the Heart 8 turn and Heart Q river run out. Upon spotting the bad news on the final community card, the emotions run high and Abida bangs his fist on the table. Despite losing this big pot, he still has an average stack with 58 players out of 161 entries remaining.

Jim Azazgour – 200,000
Yum – 200,000
Jean-Luc Cagli – 130,000
Jaouad Abida – 82,000
Dmitrii Sukhorukov – Eliminated
