Lita Hsu Forces a Fold From Nicolas Cardyn, Moves Into Chip Lead

Jan 5, 2016

On a flop of Heart 8Diamond 5Heart 3, Lita Hsu bets 8,000 out of the big blind, which looks to be just shy of a pot-sized bet.

Nicolas Cardyn calls on the button and the turn is the Heart A. Hsu bets again, this time 18,000 and Cardyn takes a few moments before calling. The river is the Club 10 and Hsu immediately starts to rise from his chair and crane his neck to see how much Cardyn has left.

Cardyn moves his hand and exposes his chips to Hsu, showing that he has about 65,000 remaining. Hsu reaches for chips and then bets 32,000. Cardyn immediately asks for a count and then goes into the tank.

He sits motionless for about three minutes in the tank before tossing his hand into the muck. Hsu drags the pot and takes the chip lead, while Cardyn loses about a third of his stack.

Lita Hsu – 255,000
Nicolas Cardyn – 65,000
