Maximillian Droege Out in 28th Place (CAD $11,722)

Feb 14, 2015

With the board showing 10spade3spade3club2diamond on the turn, Matthew Parry bets 102,000 from the big blind, and Maximillian Droege calls from the button.

The river card is the Jheart, and Parry thinks for a bit before he announces, “All in.” Parry has about 415,000 to Droege’s 200,000 or so. Droege goes into the tank.

For the first two minutes, Droege stares at Parry as if he’s trying to get a read, but Parry remains motionless, staring at the pot in the center of the table. After two minutes, Droege leans back in his chair and lets out a big sigh. Parry remains motionless.

After three minutes, Droege leans back forward with his elbows on the table, resting his face on his hands. Soon after that, he simply says, “Call.”

Parry turns over Aclub3diamond for trip threes, and Droege’s reaction makes it clear that trip threes are the best hand. Droege lets out an exasperated gasp, and then taps the table and says, “Nice hand, man.” Droege mucks as he is eliminated, and Parry wins the pot.
