Jens Kerper Eliminated in 15th Place (72,000 DKK)

Nov 16, 2012

Jens Kerper was one of our strongest contenders yesterday. But we all know how fickle this game can be. Take a snapshot of the room, as it stands, and there is no Kerper. He has gone and so has his bad-boy rapper hat with the words DOPE emblazoned on the front.

Kerper opens from the cutoff, Emil Olsson calls on the button as does Philip Jacobson in the big blind.

Flop: [8d] [8c] [2c]

Jacobson checks, Kerper bets 23,000, Olsson folds, Jacobson check-raises to 70,000 and Kerper calls.

Turn: [9h]

Jacobson has now made this pot very large indeed. He stares at the board and we can see the reflection in his sunglasses.

"I am all-in," he murmurs to the dealer.

Kerper checks his cards, "I call," he says.

Kerper doesn’t look happy when he turns over his [8s] [5s]. His intuition was right as Jacobson turns over [8h] [7c], but 60% of the time this hand is going to be a tie.

River: [6c]

Jacobson hits one of the 34% of cards that were going to hand him victory and Kerper blows a raspberry into the air. The dealer carries out a count and Kerper is out in 15th. I guess DOPE was an acronym for "Didn’t Overcome Philips Eight"

Jacobson ~ 880,000
