A handful of players limp into the pot before the player in the big blind raises to 3,000. David Aker calls under the gun, Jay Romano calls from the cutoff, and David Saffron calls from the small blind.

The flop comes Spade 8Diamond 7Diamond 2, Saffron checks, and the big blind moves all in for about 30,000. Aker folds, Romano calls, and Saffron moves all in over the top. Romano calls all in, and the players show their cards.

David Saffron:  Diamond 8Heart 7  (top two pair)
Jay Romano:  Diamond ADiamond 3  (flush draw)
Small Blind:  Diamond QClub Q  (overpair)

Aker says he folded pocket fours.

The turn card is the Diamond 4, and the river card is the Heart 4 — Romano hit his diamond flush on the turn, and then Aker nearly explodes when he sees that he would have rivered quad fours.

Since Aker folded what would have been the best hand, Romano scooped the entire pot, doubling thru Saffron and eliminating the small blind.

Jay Romano  –  135,000  (338 bb)
David Aker  –  55,000  (138 bb)
David Saffron  –  47,600  (119 bb)
