Hands #54-57: Michael Horchoff Eliminated in 3rd Place ($106,904)

Hand #54 – Jared Jaffee gets a walk in the big blind.

Hand #55 – Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the small blind and wins.

Hand #56 – Blake Purvis calls from the small blind, then Michael Horchoff raises all in from the big blind for 740,000 and Purvis steps aside.

Hand #57 – Purvis raises to 120,000 from the button, then Horchoff reraises all in for 820,000 from the small blind. Jaffee folds, and Purvis calls.

Horchoff has [Kd][7c] and is ahead but needs his hand to hold versus Purvis’s [Jd][8d]. The flop comes [Qc][6c][4c] and Horchoff still leads, but the turn is the [Jh] to give Purvis a pair.

A king or club can still save Horchoff, but the [8s] falls on fifth street and he is out in third for a cash of $106,904.  

There will now be a slight pause as preparations are made for heads-up play.
