Hands #5-8: Jose Catela Gets a Shove Through

Mar 19, 2023

Hand #5: Charlie Chiu raises to 160,000 in late position. It folds to Jose Catela in the small blind and he lets the 30-second Action Clock all but expire before moving all-in. Chiu asks for an exact count and folds when it is deemed to be for 1,270,000.

Hand #6: Nicolas Ragot opens to 160,000 in the hijack and Feng Ji Chua complains that he is attacking his big blind. “I can’t fold,” Chua adds and calls, then check-folds a Club JHeart 6Heart 4 flop when Ragot bets 175,000.

Hand #7: Charlie Chiu raises to 160,000 and earns calls from Ragot as well as Bien Mai, the latter of which is in the big blind. On a Heart KClub 4Heart 2 flop, Mai checks and Chiu continues for 200,000. That is enough to win the pot uncontested.

Hand #8: Matthieu Lamagnere raises to 175,000 and collects the blinds and antes.

Charlie Chiu – 7,000,000 (87 bb)
Matthieu Lamagnere – 4,950,000 (62 bb)
Bien Mai – 4,450,000 (55 bb)
Nicolas Ragot – 3,775,000 (47 bb)
Feng Ji Chua – 1,700,000 (21 bb)
Jose Catela – 1,500,000 (19 bb)
