HAND #31  –  Erich Tedeschi is forced all in from the big blind for the ante for his last 25,000, and since this tournament is “ante first,” that is all he is eligible to win.

Laurent Michot limps from the button for 150,000, and David Sacksick completes the small blind. All of that goes into the side pot.

Both players check to the river on a board of Diamond JDiamond 8Club 7Spade 8Heart 7, and everyone shows their cards.

Laurent Michot:  Club AHeart 2  (ace high)
David Sacksick:  Heart KClub 6  (king high)
Erich Tedeschi:  Diamond ADiamond 3  (ace high)

Michot wins the side pot with his ace high, but for the main pot, Michot and Tedeschi technically chop with the two pair on the board and their ace kickers. But since the main pot is only worth a single chip of the smallest denomination, and since you can’t bust from a tournament on a chop, Tedeschi receives the entire pot — a measly 25,000.
