Frederic Normand Leads Day 1c as 97 Progress

On Thursday, November, 1, the final event of The Season XVII WPT Montreal festival began as the $1,500 + $150 WPTDeepStacks kicked off with Day 1a at the Playground Poker Club.

With the WPT500 completed earlier this week and the WPT Montreal Main Event in full swing, the CAD$1,000,000 Guaranteed WPTDeepStacks will give players their final opportunity for glory.

The event features five starting flights with Day 1a, and 1b completed on November 1, Day 1c & 1d running yesterday and a final turbo flight taking place at 10 am EDT today (Saturday, November, 3) ahead of Day 2 which begins today at 3 pm EDT.

Day 1c saw 294 entries with Frederic Normand leading the 97 who progressed with a stack worth 276,500.

Mark Klimchuk (275,600), Christopher Rivard (252,500) Muhammad Abdel-Rahim (250,000) and Mark A (204,500) complete the top five counts.

WPT Champions Club members Darryll Fish (99,500), Eric Afriat (90,000), Marvin Rettenmaier (80,500), Mukul Pahuja (59,500), Tony Tran (57,500), and Shawn Buchanan (40,000) will also be in Day 2 action.

Tom Hall, who finished in 4th place in this week’s WPT500, bagged 124,500, with Sebastien Lepine (pictured above) (138,500), Maurice Hawkins (127,000), Aaron Overton (120,500), Rodney Ramalho (111,000), Kevin Rivest (107,000) and Homan Mohammadi (105,500) also moving forward.

Information on the players who progressed from Day 1d and Day 1e will be posted live when available later on today, with a recap of the Day 2 action being made available at the conclusion of play.
