Draw Heavy Board Possibly Saves Przygoda

Feb 23, 2013

The overwhelming chip leader of WPT Baden, Vladimir Bozinovic opens to 40,000 from first position on his five-handed table. Next to act is Adrian Apmann who flat-calls. The next two players fold before Robert Przygoda calls in the big blind.

The [Th][6s][5s] flop saw all three players check behind each other. The turn was another spade, the [9c] and Przygoda checked, Bozinovic bet 55,000. Surprisingly, both of the active players called so it was still three-handed to the [4s] river.

With a flush, straight and straight flush out there nobody bet and the cards were revealed. Bozinovic mucked, Przygoda showed [6d][5d] for two pair but he lost to Apmann who had turned a set with [9h][9c].

One feels that the chips could have gone in on the turn had the board not been so scary.
