It has all come to an end, the final hand seeing the chips go in preflop. With 14 big blinds left, Manig Loeser ships Diamond 8Diamond 7 and Daniel Smyth takes a little time before making the call with Spade KHeart 9.

The flop doesn’t connect for either player and Smyth moves further into the lead. The Diamond 9 turn locks it up with a pair of nines that leaves Loeser drawing dead. The Diamond 4 river makes things official and Manig Loeser is out, declaring Smyth the latest WPT Champion!

As well as a huge $413,362 in prize money, Smyth also gets his name etched on the famous Mike Sexton Champions Cup, a seat into the next $15,000 Tournament of Champions, a set of Bacarrat Crystal everyday tumblers and a Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium watch worth $7,500.

A huge congratulations go out to Smyth for his incredible result, and also to Loeser for taking the runner up spot for $279,359, including $70,866 in bounties.
