Citron Cruising

Gary Citron is one of the true characters of this tournament. The type of person you want at your table so you can have a good laugh. We are not talking about his playing, of course, and instead are talking about his deadpan humour. Citron started the day on the short stack but at last count was sitting pretty on 125,000.

So how did he get those chips?

"Well I didn’t steal them if that’s what you think…I hit a set of queens in one hand…then I flopped [Kx] [Jx] [Jx] when holding [Qx] [Jx], says Citron.

"In other words, you got lucky," says tournament director Matt Savage

Lucky or not, the tournament would be poorer without him.
