Chipleader Scott Blackman Stays Strong

Mar 3, 2014

When people talk about someone going "wire-to-wire" to win a major poker tournament, they usually mean that they were chipleader at the end of each day. But so far, Blackman seems to have dominated the chip counts from early on Day 1, and he’s never seemed to give up the top spot, even for a moment.

Of course, the tournament hasn’t even reached the money yet, so it’s still early. But it’s very rare to see someone stay at the top of the leaderboard for this length of time.

Scott Blackman raises from middle position to 3,500, Mark Lewin reraises from the big blind to 11,000, and Blackman thinks for a while before he four-bets it to 33,000.

Lewin folds, and Blackman adds a little bit more to his chipleading stack.

Scott Blackman  –  385,000  (240 bb)
Mark Lewin  –  65,000  (40 bb)
