A few minutes ago, the official shuffle up and deal for Day 1A of the WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event was done by the WPT’s Hermance Blum, Casino de Marrakech Es Saadi General Manager Jean-Alexandre Bauchet-Bouhlal and tournament director Thomas Gimie.

Some 40 players were in their seats with 300 big blinds worth in the first level at blinds of 100-100 and a stack of 30,000. Soon after the cards got in the air, Tobias Peters headed into the tournament area with a ticket in the hand.

“Sometimes things don’t go as planned,” the Dutchman said, having busted from the High Roller early on Day 2. Once there are at least three players at his Main Event table, Peters will be back in action.

Some other familiar faces in the Day 1A field include Andris Resevskis and Amina Benkirane. On the table of Benkirane, there was already a seat open within the first 10 minutes of play as Jean Karam sent Ahmed Rida Berkani to the rail when both hit a full house. Karam now holds some 60,000 chips, Berkani re-entered shortly after.
