Bodo Sbrzesny Has a Cold and the Chip Lead

Feb 21, 2013

Erik Scheidt opens to 400 from the hijack, Klaus Stanek calls in the cut off and Bodo Sbrzesny squeezes from the button for 12,600. Scheidt has his black jacket zipped up over his lips. He pulls the top off his stack and four-bets to 26,800. Stanek folds and Sbrzesny decides to just call.

Flop: [Qh] [Tc] [6c]

Scheidt – who started the hand with around 60BB – bets 28,200, Sbrzesny wipes the drivel from his nose and announces he’s all-in and Scheidt calls in a flash.

Showdown

Sbrzesny: [8c] [7c]
Scheidt: [Kc] [Kh]

You just knew it was coming. It’s Sbrzesny’s time.

Turn: [2c]

Sbrzesny hits his flush, but he still has to fade a fourth club.

River: [2s]

A big moment for Sbrzesny, who is feeling very sick. He moves up to 450,000 chips and Scheidt is out.
