Betting on the Academy Awards

The Academy Awards ceremony is this evening, and it’s worth noting that one of the players in this room has actually been nominated for an Academy Award — actress Jennifer Tilly. (Tilly currently has about 90,000 in chips.)

Obviously, there is a good deal of interest in the Oscars even among the players who haven’t ever been nominated.

At Table 11, Mike Gorodinsky and Antonio Esfandiari are talking about Best Picture nominees, and Gorodinsky seems to think Gravity would win. Esfandiari says his pick was 12 Years a Slave.

Gorodinsky says, “I haven’t seen it.”

Esfandiari responds, “Perfect, because I haven’t seen Gravity. So do we have a bet?”
