Ben Lin Eliminated ($10,750)

Sep 22, 2009

After a flop of [Kd9d3h], Ben Lin bets 50,000 from early position, Ron McGinnity raises from the cutoff to 200,000, and Lin moves all in. McGinnity asks for a count, but Lin thought he said "Call," and briefly flips over his cards.

McGinnity claims to have seen only one card before Lin could cover it with his hand, and a floorperson is called over just in case. Basically, the error was clearly Lin’s, and nothing can be done to undo it. McGinnity can make whatever decision he likes.

McGinnity calls, saying he would’ve called anyway, and shows [KhQh] (pair of kings). Lin shows [AdJd] for a diamond flush draw, and he’ll need to improve to stay alive.

The turn is the [6s], the river is the [7c], and Ron McGinnity wins the pot with a pair ofkings. Ben Lin is eliminated somewhere around 33rd place, earning $10,750.
