Baumann Exposes Her Aces

Mar 16, 2015

Frederik Jensen raised from the small blind by putting forward a big stack of black chips worth 5,000 a piece and Gaelle Baumann called instantly.

Baumann thought she was all in for her tournament life and showed AdiamondAspade, but within a second she turned her cards back over. The bet Jensen had made left her with 10,000 chips behind and the flop showed 3heart3club8spade.

Baumann went all in for 10,000 after Jensen had checked and the Dane tanked for quite a long time, which didn’t please Gerald Karlic.

“You know the clock is running, right?” Karlic said.

“Yeah, but I have a decision,” Jensen replied.

Karlic rolled his eyes in disgust and called the clock on his opponent.

The tournament director didn’t start the countdown right away but Jensen wasn’t happy with Karlic’s decision. Jensen reiterated that he indeed had a real decision to make, and that he was trying to figure out what the correct math was.

“You have the right to think, I have the right to call the clock,” Karlic said.

“You have the right to be a dick,” Jensen responded sternly.

About 30 seconds later Jensen folded Kspade6heart face up and Baumann took down the pot without showdown, but after having shown her pocket aces.

Baumann – 227,000
Jensen – 140,000
