Allyn Shulman's Shove Makes Weber Wonder

Nov 8, 2014

The significance of the bounties — worth $2,500 — definitely produce some interesting situations as well as perhaps some alternative strategic decisions from both bounty players and those seeking to earn those prizes.

They definitely make Level 1 of a Day 1 more interesting than it normally might be, as demonstrated recently in a hand involving one of the bounty players — Allyn Shulman — and Michael Weber.

With the board showing [2s][9s][Ah][8c][Qh] and about 7,000 in the middle, Shulman shoves all in for 16,425, causing Weber to think at length about his decision. After some time he asks "Show if I fold… maybe?" But Shulman offers no response to his question.

Finally Weber folds his hand, showing the [Ad] as he does, and eventually Shulman shows her hand as well — [2h][2d] for a set of deuces. "It was a good bet," says Weber. "Made me tank."
