Adam Torma Slow Plays Himself into a Fabian Gumz Double-Up

Apr 14, 2024

Fabian Gumz raises to 120,000 on the button and gets called by Adam Torma in the big blind.

On the Spade JHeart 10Diamond 9 flop, Torma checks, and Gumz checks back.

The turn brings the Diamond A and after another Torma check, Gumz bets 275,000, leaving himself 395,000 behind.

Torma calls and the Diamond 6 completes the board with a potential backdoor flush. Torma checks a final time and Gumz bets 390,000, leaving 5,000 behind.

Torma immediately flicks in a time bank and thinks for a bit before moving all in.

Gumz flicks in his last chip, which will be coming back to him with a whole bunch more.

The German turns over his Diamond QDiamond 3 for the backdoor flush, while Torma is forced to show his Heart QHeart 8 for a flopped straight which goes up in flames to Gumz’s running diamonds.

With the pot, Gumz’s stack is healthy again while Torma is now on a short stack.

Fabian Gumz – 1,670,000 (27 bb)
Adam Torma – 600,000 (10 bb)
