On Friday, YiGuang Xu defeated Xi Jie Sun heads up to capture the Season XV WPT National Korea title at Paradise Casino Jeju Grand. On the final hand, Xu turned trip kings and Sun moved all in with pocket aces. Xu called with the best hand, and was crowned the champion when a meaningless ten completed the board.
“I have been playing every WPT event in Asia since the first event held in Sanya,” Xu said after his victory. “I am happy to see that the overall tournament is constantly improving, either from its schedule, blinds, structures, or the hosting. I am planning to attend WPT event in US. It must be exciting!”
Xu, who is referred to as “Ah Guang” by his friends, earned the top prize of KRW 83,310,000 ($70,794). It is the largest cash in his poker career, according to Hendon Mob. Xu also received a Pro Jacket by Poker King Club and a pair of Vivant sunglasses.
For his efforts, Sun received the second-place prize of KRW 55,280,000 ($46,975).

The KRW 2,200,000 buy-in WPT National Korea Main Event attracted 160 players in total, creating a prize pool of KRW 310,400,000 ($266,000).
