The most recent LAPC champion Dietrich Fast is the chip leader with a staggering 1.2 million chips, followed by John Gale with 769,000 and Julian Thomas with 708,000 chips.
Day 3 started with 49 players and the field got whittled down to its final 16 rather quickly. Among the early eliminations we found Hungarian pro Andras Nemeth and Ole Schemion, while one of the five Champions Club members that started the day didn’t make the money either. Partypoker ambassador Tony Dunst got bounced from the tournament right as Fast grabbed the chip lead by busting Gereon Sowa with about 35 players remaining.
Fast extended his lead by busting Danish pro Morten Mortensen, and he hasn’t looked back since. The brother of defending champion Konstantinos Nanos, Dimitrios, busted out on the bubble and the final 27 were guaranteed a payday of €5,950.
Shortly after the bubble burst, the end was also there for the defending champ. Nanos ran kings into Matias Ruzzi’s set, and never recovered as he got knocked out in 25th place. David Abramov’s elimination ended the day, as he got knocked out in 17th place for €5,950. Here are the current standings heading into the penultimate day of this event.
