A fast and furious Day 2 has come to a close at the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and we are down to the final 12 players from a returning field of 132 on Monday. The chip leader at the end of play is David Ormsby (pictured above) with 2,003,000. Here is a look at the chip count standings at the end of play tonight.

Mike Bui – 975,000
Derek Verrian – 857,000
Soren Turkewitsch – 688,000
Samuel Tsehai – 624,000

When the field returned the first order of business was to play down to the money. The field reached the final 55 players late this afternoon, after hand-for-hand play on the money bubble lasted a little over an hour before Mike McDonald exited as the bubble boy. After that bubble burst the flood gates opened and we lost more than half the remaining field during the next two levels of play.

We lost some notables during the chaos this evening, and here is a look at the familiar faces that cashed: Alexis Gavin (49th), Olivier Busquet (44th), Samuel Chartier (43rd), Doug Hartwick (42nd), Xuan Liu (39th), Randy Pfeifer (27th), Ryan Franklin (26th), and Aaron Mermelstein (17th).

Day 3 will begin at noon ET on Tuesday. The field will play down to a WPT final table of six tomorrow, and the WPT live reporting team will bring you all of the action in live updates, chip counts, and photos from Canada.
