Irvine, CA (August 19, 2024) – “pas1161br” reigned as the biggest winner of the WPT® Global* Summer Festival after successfully navigating through an online field of 283 players to win the WPT Championship for $206,300, plus a $10,400 seat in the 2024 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.
The tournament drew a field of nearly 300 entries. The prize pool stood at the guaranteed sum of $1,000,000, which ultimately awarded a cash prize to the top 35 finishers.
There were two WPT Global Ambassadors at the $3,500 WPT Championship final table. Placing second for $130,640 was WPT Patrick Tardif a.k.a. Egption and finishing in fifth place for $59,200 was Jonathan Van Fleet a.k.a. apestyles.
“It was a great turnout for our largest festival to date,” stated Alex Scott, WPT Global President. “Aside from the Championship purse, there were plenty of other big winners across the board. More than eight million dollars in prize money was awarded throughout the entire festival.”
The summer festival also crowned two other WPT winners. ‘Sucra71’ took down the $1,060 buy-in WPT Prime event that drew 615 entries and divvied out the guaranteed prize pool of $750,000. “两弹一星” claimed victory in the WPT 500 event at the start of the festival and won the top prize of $83,109 by defeating a field of 898 entries.
Following the WPT Global Summer Festival will be the WPT Global Fall Festival, running September 8-30.
