Cold Deck: Toto Leonidas Five-Bets Preflop Against David Pham, Cornel Cimpan, and Matt Stout

Dec 16, 2009

David "Dragon" Pham raises from late position to 6,400, Cornel Andrew Cimpan reraises from the cutoff to 18,400, and Matt "AllinAt420" Stout reraises from the button to 54,200.

Then Toto Leonidas tanks for a while in the small blind.

Leonidas eventually moves all in for 295,600, and Pham and Cimpan both quickly fold. (Pham claims to have folded 10-10, and Cimpan says he folded [AhKh].)

Stout asks for an exact count, and it’s 241,400 more for him to call. Stout thinks for more than a minute before folding [QcQs].

The players talk about the hand for a few minutes, saying how rare it is to see so many good hands in a row like that. Stout says, "You had two tens, ace-king suited, two queens, and then two aces or kings."

Kenna James says, "Or eight-five of clubs."

Everyone laughs, and Toto half-heartedly tries to convince everyone that he was bluffing. He asks Stout what he would have done if, after he folded, Toto showed him rags. Stout said he wouldn’t really do anything, he’d just be impressed as hell that Toto pulled off the best bluff he’d ever seen.

Toto Leonidas  –  373,000
Matt "AllinAt420" Stout  –  398,000
Cornel Andrew Cimpan  –  125,000
David "The Dragon" Pham  –  115,000

Cornel Cimpan is still in the running for Card Player’s Player of the Year, but he’ll need to finish third or higher to pass Eric "Basebaldy" Baldwin.
