Germany’s Philipp Gruissem opens the betting with a min-raise to 16,000 from under the gun. The action folds to Tony G on the button and he three-bets all-in for 121,000 in total.

Next to act is Scott Seiver and he goes deep into the tank and cold calls the shove, despite having Tobias Reinkemeier and Gruissem left to act. Reinkemeier folds then Gruissem re-shoves, creating a massive pot and giving Seiver a major headache. Almost a minute passes before Seiver passes.

Tony G: [7c][7d]
Gruissem: [Qh][Qs]

Tony G looks disgusted and stands from his seat as the cards are announced. He is a huge underdog, a situation that changes as the flop comes down [8s][Tc][9s] giving Tony G an extra four outs to a straight (if a Jack comes on the board Gruissem would win with a queen high straight,)

The turn is a jack, improving Gruissem to a straight and leaving Tony G drawing to a queen to chop the pot. The river bricks and ony G storms off stage and heads into the cold London night.

The players are now on a inpromtpu 10-minute break.
