Nice Hand, Tomato King

Feb 26, 2012

Adam Friedman Larry Lipman
Phil Ivey raises to 9,000 from middle position, Adam Friedman calls on the button, and Larry Lipman raises to 30,000 out of the small blind. Ivey folds and Friedman calls.

The flop comes [AhJc7d] and Lipman bets 30,000 again.  Friedman raises an additional 35,000 or so, and Lipman quickly announces he is all-in, having Friedman’s remaining 65,000 or so covered.

Friedman sits back in his chair and lets out a big sigh.  He talks through things to himself, at one point saying, "I assume we’re chopping."

Lipman asks, "Why is that?"

Friedman doesn’t respond and eventually folds his hand.  Lipman decides to show his holdings and turns over [AdAs] for top set.

Almost everyone at the table individually tells him, "Nice hand, Tomato King."

Larry Lipman – 495,000 (124 BBs)
Adam Friedman – 68,500 (17 BBs)
