Cody, Geshkenbein, Brindley and Nicholson...Oh My!

Jan 5, 2012

Table three looks a fun place to hang out and watch some poker. PKR Pro’s Vladimir Geshkenbein and Jake Cody are sitting side by side with Cody in the dominating position. Roy Brindley is taking a rest from the commentary booth and sits to the left of Cody. Last but certainly not least is "Little" David Nicholson. Nicholson gets his nickname "Little" because he looks about 2-years of age. Nicholson travelled over to Ireland smuggled in Cody’s glove compartment. Here is a hand between the two PKR Pros…

There was a raise to 400 from first position before Geshkenbein three-bet to 1,100 from the cutoff. Jake Cody is seated on the button and after a moments pause he makes the call. The original raiser has some thinking to do, and if we could read minds we would guess he was probably thinking, "Do I really want to play this pot out of position against Cody and Geshkenbein!" After a while he sees sense and makes the fold.

Flop: [Td] [8h] [5h]

Geshkenbein makes a very swift check-call, after Cody bets 1,500.

Turn: [9c]

Both players check.

River: [4s]

Once again it is a very swift check-call line from Geshkenbein after Cody, this time, bets 5,000. Cody insta-mucks his hand and Geshkenbein doesn’t need to show his hand to scoop the pot.

"Bluffing me? That’s not nice. We are on the same team," said Geshkenbein.

Yeah, but to be fair Vladimir he hasn’t be there that long!

Geshkenbein ~ 34,500
Cody ~ 23,400
Brindley ~ 31,000
Nicholson ~ 35,000
