Nitsche Loses Big Pot

Jul 19, 2011

Dominik Nitsche has ended the level by losing a big pot to his nemesis, Marcello Marigliano.

John Eames opened to 4,500 in middle position and after two players folded Marigliano three-bet to 12,000. Massimiliano Rosa folded in the small blind but Nitsche was not laying his hand down, instead he four-bet to 26,000. This was enough to fold out Eames but Marigliano called, albeit after almost three minute’s thinking time.

The flop came down [2hAcTc] and Nitsche lead out for 13,200, Marigliano moved all in an Nitsche announed "I call," and turned over [Ad3c], which was in big trouble against the [AsJs] of his Italian opponent.

The turn was the [Qd] but Nitsche’s pleas to pair the board were ignored by the dealer, who put out the [Kh] on the river.
