We said at the start of the day that Alex Dovzhenko was one to watch and it will take a colossal effort to prize him from the final table after catching a lot of luck to catapult himself to second in the chip counts.

We didn’t catch the action but we saw both stacks going into the middle with Umberto Calabro seated in the small blind and Alex Dovzhenko seated in the big blind. When the cards were turned over Dovzhenko reached for his jacket and was nearly out of the door before we even saw a flop.

Dovzhenko: [Kh] [Kd]
Calabro: [Ac] [As]

Flop: [Kc] [6c] [2h]

Calabro slaps the table in dismay and Dovzhenko starts to show a bit of interest in the hand. The turn was [8s] and river [Qc] and Dovzhenko pulls one out of the bag.

Dovzhenko ~ 700,000
Calabro ~ 220,000
