Aggression Rules!

Nov 3, 2011

Any textbook will tell you that aggression will always beat passivity in the game of poker. Here is Mickael Telker giving Mesbah Guerfi that particular lesson.

Guerfi raises to 2,500 in first position and when the action folds around to Telker on the button he makes the call. The blinds fold and we see a flop of [7c] [4h] [3c] and Guerfi check-calls a 2,400 Telker bet. The turn card is the [6s] and once again Guerfi checks very quickly. Telker keeps up the aggression with a bet of 5,200 and Guerfi calls. The last card is the [Ks] and Guerfi produces another lightning fast check, and sensing another check-call, Telker bets 9,000 and Guerfi does indeed call.  Telker flips over [Kd] [Qh] and a gutted Guerfi mucks.

Telker – 190,000
Guerfi – 100,000
