Franky Triples Up

As we were walking around the tournament area we saw Mathew Frankland arriving with Roberto Romanello.

"We didn’t think you would turn up," we joke with Frankland referring to his meagre 14,000 starting stack.

"I will have 60,000 before you know it," says Frankland.

Then as the clock struck 13.00 and the dealer sprang the first cards from the deck Frankland trebled up. The hand played itself with Frankland holding pocket tens, one opponent holding pocket nines and a third opponent holding pocket aces. Frankland flopped a ten and he now has 44,000 – so 16,000 to go then!
