William Dorey has just seen a shift in his stack from 65,000 to 3,600 in two consecutive hands.

In the first hand Dorey raises to 1,100 in early position and there are two cold callers before the player in the cutoff raises to 5,100. Next to act is Giacomo Fundaro and he four-bets to 12,100. Dorey ponders his decision before moving all-in and he has everyone remaining in the hand covered. Players fold like dominoes before Fundaro makes the call. When the cards are overturned Dorey is way ahead.

Dorey: [Kd] [Ks]?
Fundaro: [Ad] [Kc]

Fundaro had three outs, and as the dealer laid out the flop the third card to appear was one of those outs – [As] [Th] [9h]. Dorey remained unfazed and the turn [5d] and river [3c] closed the action and Dorey had to hand over 18,175 chips to Fundaro.

Fundaro ~ 48,000
Dorey ~ 40,000

In the next hand Dorey raises to 1,050 in first position and the action folds around to Tommaso Briotti in the big blind and he three-bets to 3,450. Dorey, who is starting to look a little red around the cheeks, makes the call. The flop has trouble written all over it – [7h] [6d] [5c] – Briotti bets 4,150, Dorey raises to 8,850, Briotti moves all-in and Dorey calls.

"I am sure Will has aces," says David Nicholson.

Instead it is Briotti who turns over the aces and Dorey who is way behind with pocket tens.

The turn [8c] and river [Js] do not help Dorey and he is left with 3,625 chips. Briotti meanwhile has 70,000.
