Geshkenbein Caught BluffingÂ…Kind of

Feb 19, 2013

Shabtay Zurr is first to act and he min-raises to 400. His only customer is the usually vocal Russian Vladimir Geshkenbein who is seated in the big blind. Geshkenbein calls and it is heads up to the [Ad][Td][8h] flop. Geshkenbein check-calls a 500 bet from Zurr.

The [Ks] on the turn prompts Geshkenbein to lead out for 1,300 and Zurr quickly calls. The [Ts] on the river coupled with Geshkenbein’s strange line sees both players check.

Showdown

Geshkenbein: [Js][7s]
Zurr: [Ac][Qd]

Geshkenbein caught with his fingers in the cookie jar, but he is still has more chips than he started the day with; he has 32,150 chips.
