Anghel Vasile Eliminated by Niclas Martinsson

What greater way to start a tournament than to double up in the very first level. That is exactly what the Swede Niclas Martinsson has just done. For every winner there is a loser. That man is Anghel Vasile.

We didn’t see the action but have been told that Vasile left the competition after calling an all-in on the river from Martinsson on a board of [Kx] [6x] [6x] [4s] [8h] with Martinsson holding [Kx] [6x]. Vasile mucked his hand but we believe a spade flush was present on the turn and that was Vasile’s most likely holding.

Martinsson recently finished in 12th place at WPT Copenhagen.
