A Winner Will be Crowned in the Season 20 WPT Prime Taiwan Main Event

The record-setting 2022 WPT Prime Taiwan Main Event will conclude today as a champion out of the huge 877 entry strong field will be crowned as of 1pm local time at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association in Taipei City. Nine players representing four different countries are competing for the biggest slice of the TWD 25,196,700 ($808,623) prize pool and one of them will etch their name into the history books of the CTP Club, as the TWD 33,000 ($1,100) buy-in has become the biggest live poker event in the history of Taiwan.

After three starting days and nearly eleven hours of poker action the previous day, London-based French poker pro Marc Inizan sits atop the leaderboard with 5,245,000. He entered Day 2 second in chips and retained his prime position at all times.

Six local players from Taiwan are trying to keep the WPT Prime Main Event trophy on home soil and Chih Feng Li (4,385,000) enters the final table with the most chips among them. Out of a large contigent of players from South Korea, Jeyoung Park (4,220,000) was the only one to make it through and sits in third place.

The middle of the pack contains four players from Taiwan in Kai Jan Chou (3,210,000), Yuan Hsu Lee (2,505,000), Yao Wei Huang (2,400,000), and Chang Le Lin (2,175,000). Sumire Hori from Japan is the last woman in contention and has 1,195,000 at her disposal while Yu Fan Chang (1,030,000) follows only a few big blinds behind.

There are 30:45 minutes remaining in level 25 at blinds of 30,000-60,000 and 60,000 big blind ante. All finalists are guaranteed TWD 431,900 ($13,861) for their efforts so far. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of TWD 4,326,600 ($138,851) and an entry worth $10,000 for the WPT Championship Main Event at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
