Peter Lockwood Wins a Three-Way Pot to Eliminate a Player

With the board showing Spade KDiamond KSpade 10Spade 2 on the turn and the player on the button already all in, Peter Lockwood gets it all in from the cutoff against the player in the big blind.

It’s time for all three players to reveal their cards, but the short stack on the button throws his cards into the muck and leaves the table, effectively forfeiting the pot.

The player in the big blind shows Club KSpade J for trip kings with a king-high flush draw, but Lockwood turns over Heart KHeart 10 for a full house, kings full of tens.

A couple of other players point out that the third player’s cards have to be shown since it’s an all-in situation, and since they didn’t get mixed up in the muck, they are pulled out and revealed to show — Club 8Club 4. (The players say they are confident that those were his cards, but they’re unconfirmed.)

As for the players who are still at the table, Lockwood needs to avoid a jack on the river to stay alive, and the river card is the Diamond 5. Lockwood wins the pot with his full house to double up in chips, and officially eliminate the player on the button who had already left the table.
